as a dedicated patriot, not thinking outside the box I take: 6 large 'grumbirn' respectively 'erdäpfel'(potatoes), 4 large carrots, 1-2 leeks, 1-2 onions, farmers bacon (quantity optionally - I take a lot), chives, salt, pepper, caraway, majoram, bay leaves, butter, flour, cream.

cooking: cut the onions into fine dices, also the bacon and roast them together with a teaspoon of butter until golden brown. add diced carrots, potatoes and finely sliced leeks, continue roasting;
sprinkle with some flour and pour in 2 litres of water (or clear vegetable broth), season with salt, caraway, bay leaves (2-3)and the finely sliced chives. Bring the soup to the boil, reduce heat and simmer until the vegetable is firm to bite. remove the bay leaves and refine with cream.

we, my tasters and I had a lot of fun - wish you the same!
